A global network of alumni. Of the 1,800 Biozentrum alumni in total, almost 1,000 live abroad. The Biozentrum currently has around 20 master’s students, 120 PhD students and 130 postdocs from a total of 45 different countries.

Many Biozentrum alumni are modern nomads. They come to Basel to do a degree or doctorate, then take a postdoc position in Canada, for example, followed by a spell in the UK, before finally finding a job in the US.
